Well, its my second week at work and I officially have 56 hours finished for my broadcast practicum. So far my week has been very eventful and I learned alot of things from just 2 weeks of working.
Monday...
My day started normal enough except for the fact that DJ Rob wasn't the DJ on board. It turns out that its his day off during mondays.
The day still went wonderful because I got to meet DJ Pretty Rickee Kulit. I was actually surprised to see her because I know that her shift was from 12:00 MN to 5:00 AM. I had lots of fun when She was on because she was very hyper that day. After DJ Reekee the next DJ was Paquito Jones. Its actually very funny because they were all hyper.
Too much coffee I guess, they have been on board since the night before. After them was my supervisor DJ Bernie but she didn't require me to go to the booth because it was already lunch time. at 4:00 PM it was DJ Jumbo Joe's time to be on air. He's a funny guy...in a serious kind of way. He has this really deep voice that makes him the usual voice talent on many station IDs of iFM and DZXL. Sir Joe made me a part of the program in a way I didn't expect. they have this promotion for SMART that includes a script to be followed by the DJs in a conversational manner
as a sort of seguey/segway into the next part of the program. Since the time of the "advertisement" was within the program time, he didn't have a female DJ to have the conversation with so...I was on air at exactly 6:00 PM that night. What a very eventful day...
Sunday...
Yup, I went to work today for two very important reasons. One is because I wouldn't be able to go to work tomorrow because I have to work a 6 hour sanction at the ADAA, and two, it is Lyan's birthday today. She celebrated her birthday at the station so I really had to go to work. Lyan left the station at around 6:00 pm that night. The DJ on board then was DJ Rickee. Her board work was from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The next DJ was Macho Palito.
He's a cool guy! yes, he's even cooler than DJ Rob. DJ Rickee and DJ Macho Palito are the people Lyan and I consider as "
Barkada". Well, Macho Palito considers himself a "ROCKER" and he sure has the attitude of one, it just doesn't show much on his appearance.
I had lots of fun this week, I hope that things would get even more active in the coming weeks.
